Not able to untar fully using telnet task

Hi, I am using telnet task to execute some remote commands.When I untar an archive by using tar -xvf archivename, it is not able to untar the archive fully .Only a bit of it is untarred.The code looks something like this. ....... ...... ..... cd latest_build $ tar -xvf *.tar $ I guess it is closing the telnet connection before untarring it fully .but why?? I guess it is closing the telnet connection before untarring it

I'm guessing that either your tar is taking longer than 100 seconds, or the output of the tar command is sending a '$' character (highly likely if you've got Java nested/inner classes). Pick a more uncommon prompt to read on.
