I have been successfully installing tomcat3 with apache for a while now using mod_jk So I thought I would have no problems with tomcat4 and mod_webapp I have installed tomcat4.04 and apache1.3.26 on a cobalt RAQ4 Both work fine, the tomcat on port 8080. The problem is mod_webapp... After spending three full days of 'quicksand' installation, and a lot of time trawling through conflicting documentation, I am at an impasse. I have installed tomcat4.04 and apache1.3.26 on a cobalt RAQ4

The problem is mod_webapp...

After spending three full days of 'quicksand' installation, and a lot of time trawling through conflicting documentation, I am at an impasse.

A quick resume of my problems

I downloaded the required connector source files (jakarta-tomcat-connectors-4.0.4-src.tar)

Found I needed up-date, APR, autoconf (to 5.2) and libtools (to 1.3.5)

After I worked out where to put all the libraries, I finally built mod_webapp.so

When I try and start apache I get:

******************************************************

Syntax error on line 236 of /home/apache/conf/httpd.conf:

Cannot load /home/apache/libexec/mod_webapp.so into server: /usr/lib/libapr.so.0: undefined symbol: pthread_create

/home/apache/bin/apachectl start: httpd could not be started

******************************************************

I have tried to build APR using:

./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-static --disable-shared --disable-threads

but to no avail

Has anyone else come up against this problem

Sean

I had problems building from "jakarta-tomcat-connectors-4.0.4-src.tar)" too.

Try building from "jakarta-tomcat-connectors-4.0.2-src.tar) instead.

or

Check out the webconnector here.
