What would happen if a stateful bean number of clients exceed the limit defined in deployment descriptor.

Will the next client have to wait in queue or they will get some kind of exception ?

Once the limit is reached , the container adds another instance of the bean to the pool to serve the purpose of the client. it neither throws an exception nor the client has to wait in the queue.
