have installed tomcat 4.0 on my D drive, using a version that came with JBuilder 6.0 it looks like Tomcat is starting fine but when I try http://localhost:8080 I get page not found

have also installed tomcat 4.0 on my C drive at home same version etc.. get the same startup feedback from tomcat on the D drive but here when everything is "on the C drive" localhost works fine there

Suggestions:would like to get the D drive version to work because it's a better pc

Sounds like the Windows installation on the "better" computer doesn't have a mapping for the host name "localhost." Try:

http://127.0.0.1:8080/

If that works, you just have to tell Windows that the alias "localhost" refers to the IP address 127.0.0.1. I have no idea how that's done in Windows (but if you were using Linux... :)

Note, also, that you can use your computer's hostname. So, if you've got a network interface card (NIC) configured on your PC, use the network name. IIRC, it's on the "Identification" tab of the "Network Neighborhood" properties (unless they've changed that since Win9x).
