I've been using JiveLint to audit code from within IntelliJ. This is a command line tool that statically analyzes your code and reports potential problems (unused variables, unused import statements, etc) and discloses them on the command line. I'd like to be able to simply double click on an item in the output window and be taken directly to the code. Since we can't control the output of the EXE file, is there any way from within IDEA to designate a certain string as representing a certain line in the current class?

Output filtering, code navigation from the output, code inspection and a lot of other features will be available in IDEA 3.0. Currently it's available for testing. Please refer to http://www.intellij.com/eap for additional information.
