Hello, gurus. I have a problem when I exec a program form java by means of Runtime.exec When it is exec'ed an MS-DOS window is opened and I don't know how to make so that the window wouldn't open. Also after exec'ing I capture output and input from that program, like this: r = getRunTime(); pr = r.exec("myprog.exe"); is = pr.getInputStream(); os = pr.getOutPutStream(); es = pr.getErrorStream(); after this code myprog.exe is execed but also as I said a window (usuall black MS-DOS window) is opened how to avoid it? Thanks in advance.    More>>

Hello, gurus.

I have a problem when I exec a program form java by means of Runtime.exec

When it is exec'ed an MS-DOS window is opened and I don't know how to make so that the window wouldn't open.

Also after exec'ing I capture output and input from that program, like this:

r = getRunTime();

pr = r.exec("myprog.exe");

is = pr.getInputStream();
os = pr.getOutPutStream();
es = pr.getErrorStream();

after this code myprog.exe is execed but also as I said a window (usuall black MS-DOS window) is opened

how to avoid it?

Thanks in advance.    <<Less

...or you could switch to linux, which wouldnt make your exe run without ms-dos-window directly, but it could help a lot - promise!

you cant avoid that from the java-side of view.

you could try to set the exec-files properties in your windows-system not to open up a window...
