Hello,

All examples I'm seeing right now have no-arg constructors for the RMI server object. I suppose this makes sense -- as how else would the server know to instantiate the object.

But can someone definitively answer this for me -- can an RMI server have a constructor with one or more args?

Okay, I found an example where the server implementation has a constructor with one or more args. But it seems that *ONLY* the no arg constructor is accessible by the remote client, for the limitations of (MyInterface) java.rmi.Naming.lookup( String s ) method. I guess I was hoping for a (MyInterface) java.rmi.Naming.lookup( String s, args[] ) method, which doesn't exist.
