I would like to know the difference between CMM and Rational Unified Process. Both of them talk about process. Is RUP an alternative to CMM? Can I use CMM and RUP together? I have asked a few people about this. But, I haven't got the answer. Please clarify.

Too separate issues. It's like night and day. CMM mearsures how mature your process is. RUP on the other hand is a process for you to follow. I would say that you need to use RUP in order to move up on the CMM levels.
