I'm trying to print documents using Java Print Services from jdk 1.4 on RH Linux 7.2 and it could not find any printers from call to lookupPrintServices()...

It works fine on Windows 2000... The printers are installed on Linux and work with another programs...

Can anyone help me?

Hi there!

I found the explanation and workaround for this problem. There's a bug report at http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/bugParade/bugs/4615473.html.

It seems there's a bug at JDK1.4.0 (build 1.4.0-b92) in the printer lookup services. Printers that have non-alphanumeric characters in their name (such my "epson_bravo", see the "_") aren't discovered.
