Integration with Rational ClearCase in Idea 3.0?

I've heard a rumor that Idea 3.0 will support integration with Rational ClearCase. Is that true? If not, is is possible to include it?



Idea with CVS works great, but my company uses CC for version control, so it'd be really, really nice to not have to manually check in, check out, rename, etc.

If you've a Windows version of clearcase you may add under idea/config/tools an xml file (e.g. clearcase.xml).

If you want a dialog menu you can use cleardlg.exe.

If no, use cleartool who may be a bit more dangerous.

There are no other integrated VCS. We will create a set of VCS APIs and will provide our SourceSafe integration in source code as an example of how to implement such an integration. We will provide a hosting platform for open source projects complementing IDEA.

i have done Clearcase integration in the following way:

goto IDE options:


External Tools


Add


name: version tree


group: clearcase


program: cleartool


parameters: lsvtree -graphical $FilePath$




this would allow you to see the version tree of the file.


the choice would appear when you right click the mouse anywhere inside the java source window pane.


very cool...
