Recursively adding child Element nodes in Java using appendChild from DOM isn't working for me.

I create an Element and recursively add Elements to it, using appendChild. When I'm finished, all I have in the document is the top-level elements (the ones under the root Element). Has anyone run into this before? I tried using documentFragment and that didn't seem to make a difference.

can you show us the code. I think I know what the problem is but please post the code just to make sure.
