I am developing a swing application, where i need to show a preview in browser(IE or Netscape). Now i am invoking the browser separately. I want it to embed into my application which is being built using swings. So when i say preview in my application i want to invoke a browser instance into panel or something. Please can anyone help me how to achieve this.

Thanks

If you want to build a application with swing type user interface but runs on a browser, please check us out at www.asperon.com or send me your contact info at arun@asperon.com, I will be happy to send you more info.

A preview can also be done with JTextPane.

Simple not possible. IE can be invoked like you do now but can not be embedded into a java application.
There are however some alternatives:

  • Embed IE by using IBM's Bridge2Java. A JNI COM bridge interface. This is a very complex (and expencive) sollution.
  • Use a differend browser. Search the net for ICE; this is a open source Java browser.

I recommend you go for the second option.
