Hi!

I'm a little confused here, don't really know where to put this question. :/

I'll build a intranet, using J2EE as platform and Jetty as webserver ( Maybe I'll use Tomcat instead ). It will run on a Linux-server, and now to the problem:

How do I configure the server to authenticate the user who is trying to get in, and how do i retrive the users username from a servlet/alternitive a JSP-doc?

With Apache+PHP, I would use .htaccess and the PHP-pre set variables $PHP_AUTH_USER.

Regards, Bjornie
