I've been developing using VC++ for over 7 years. I'm now branching into Java development. I am trying to find a Java development environment that has comparable features to those I've been using in VisualStudio.

So far, I've found tools like JBuilder to be very sluggish. The debugging capabilities are incomplete.

I'm looking for things like "call stack", "set next statement" (ie execution point),"TRACE","ASSERT", drag and drop files, integrated source control.

Is there a Java development environment that has comparable features?

I used to work for IBM up until one month ago. They all use Eclipse. Its one of the best IDE's Ive used. They also used this tool called Jtest...which is a pretty good unit testing tool.

Well, ASSERT wasn't even a part of the language prior to 1.4.

Have you tried VAJava or WebSphere Studio Advanced Developper or Eclipse from IBM??

or even Forte for Java ??
