I have gone throught the stuff about the "Using the Converter" In the java card development kit.

But i am unable to get the real use of the converter.

Kindly tell me the use of the converter.

Also the syntax for the converter is given as follows:

converter [options] .

I don't know from where will we get the package_aid,major_version, minor_version.

Kindly help in solving this problem.

It is difficult to write all the options in the command line. So better you write the opt file with all the same options. And give opt file as a input to the converter.
syntax for the command:

converter -config *.opt

this will generate a new directory called javacard and it contains 3 files with *.cap ,*.jca ,*.exp.
