Is the JMSMessageID unique within a router network and if so for how long. For example if the network is stopped and restarted will the JMSMessageID of any unprocessed messages still be unique in regard to new messages.

The JMS message id is constructed at the client. It consists of:

hostname + "-" + System.currentTimeMillis() + (inc++)

The latter is an increment for the case that multiple messages are sent within the same millisecond.
