I am writing an Imap email client.
I download all the messages from the inbox folder on the imap server to a static Message msg[]; Then the connection to the server is closed.

When I access msg[] to retrieve a particular message, the program keeps crashing as soon as it executes the following command:

if(msg.isMimeType("text/plain"))

Does anybody have any solution or advice? Does the session have to remain open when accessing msg[].

The messages are downloaded lazily. Until you access the actual message content, it isn't downloaded.


As far as your program crashing, it sounds like you aren't handling an exception properly.
