I writing an application with an html:text field. I'm required to initialize the field with an example of what format the use must use.

Example:

dd-Mmm-yy in the textfield for locale uk

While for locale da_DK you would like to have:

dd-mm-yy

I would like to extract this info from my ActionForm, but I can't see how I can determine which locale the current user has.

Has anyone done this - and if so how ?

Thanks

You can use to write hints like this
in the same way it can be used to write labels and
other messages.

The framework automatically places a locale object in the
users session for you. If you change this to match the
locale you want, the Struts JSP tags will automatically
select the correct message resource bundle.

Someone just posted a

i18n tutorial
that might help
you get started.
