Hi...we are currently evaluating SwiftMQ for a large project and wondered if there was a way in which our management applications can be notified of connection events to queues or topics.

I've looked at the Explorer and noticed that on new connections, the view is refreshed pretty quickly. Is this event driven?

I've also looked at the CLI api and don't see any way to achieve this without using polling.

Any help would be greatly appreciiated as this is a pretty important requirement for infrastructure management applications.

That's right. The difference between SwiftMQ Explorer and CLI is the dynamic notification of updates on the management tree. That's what you see there.

We'll provide the Swiftlet API soon. A Swiftlet has direct access to the management tree, can register event listeners etc, and can forward this as JMS message to a queue/topic, for example. You can simply do everything with Swiftlets since they run inside a router.
