How do you program MIDP for roaming devices. If I am programming for MIDP in a device that has GPRS connections for instance, what is the basic architecture I should use? Should I have MIDLets that poll ever so often to a server, and if it can reach it, perform some work?
For instance, say my program should read new emails. I have to get my device to check for mail by contacting the server I assume (as opposed to getting the server to contact the device, not possible I guess) - and it checks by polling every so many minutes trying to establish a connection.

So is polling the chief mechanism to use, in a thread I imagine.
