Is there any way in Java Mail API to find out if an account exists in a mail server. Eg. in myName@domain.com, how do i check if myName account exists in domain.com.

instead of trying to do it using JavaMail, you could try to do it using a crude SMTP implementation. SMTP is a text only protocol (easy to implement in java), and I am sure that there are some public versions of it out there. When you want to check an email address, connect to the server, then try a 'VRFY address@server' command. However, you should know that servers do not necessarily tell you if it exists (security), and almost all email proxy servers will tell you nothing.

ah the long gone time when email servers used to answer this type of questions ...sigh... nasty spammers who forced us to hide.

cheers
