In the IBM Redbook IBM WebSphere and VisualAge for Java Database Integration with DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server
it states "There are a few steps you must follow to enable access to SQL Server through WebSphere. Because SQL Server does not provide a JDBC driver, we use the Sun JDBC/ODBC bridge to get a connection to the database."
There are drivers available, some are free with limitations. Try searching the web on MSSQL JDBC Driver. You should be able to find what you are looking for.
