I am using an XML document where some tags need to refer the same product vendor and his address.
Is it possible to define this information only once inside the XML document and use that as a reference in all the other places? Please help me in sorting out this problem.

That's exactly what entities do. Here is the sample xml document which may refer to either an internal entity or an external entity.

Content of products.xml

internalAddress "

1234 Java Street
San Francisco
94234
CA

">
]>

&externalAddress;

&internalAddress;

&internalAddress;

Content of address.xml

123 Java Street
San Francisco
94234
CA
