I need to have "" as a command line argument to a tool I'm calling. If I do it in my build file as

(Please excuse the spaces)

The argument is actually passes is an empty string - or maybe it just gets ignored. If I put any data between the two quote tags is works just like it should - however, that means something completely different. Any idea why that would be happening?

I took a look at the code that handles this (org.apache.tools.ant.types.Commandline) and the only explanation I can give is that its convoluted in there and it definitely does translation of the specified command-line arguments. I'd recommend filing a bug report on this.
