How to check the mail id of a user on a particular mail server

Suppose my application needs to check whether a particular user has any valid e-Mail Id on a paricular mail server?(Which the user mentions during the Registration process with our site),
without sending a mail to the User?



The application should just be able to reach the mail server and check for the user mail id on the mail server(THE user should not be mailed while checking the Mail id) and return the status to the application.

Do u have the password of user mail id and other info like pop3 address of mail server ?
