I have just installed JBuilder 5 onto my linux machine, which is running Red Hat 7.1, and when I try to load Jbuilder I get the following error message :-

/bin/dumpenv : permission denied

After this message is displayed nothing happens.

I've had a look on the Borland web site but I have been unable to find anything that might help. Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

My first instinct would be to say this is probably an issue with the user and file permissions on your linux file system rather than an install issue. Is the path to jbuilder you selected not owned by the user you are installing with? Does the path exist? If not does the user have creation permissions in that directory? The user installing jbuilder will need read, write, and executable permissions in the directory it is being installed in. Also some certain access rights maybe needed as well I am not familiar with that particular version of jbuilder but if you say point it to a jdk it will need access to that directory, etc etc etc
