Hi everybody,


I am using javamail in java program in order to connect to a MS Exchange 2000 SMTP server. I ve got a problem when connecting to it , the debug trace show an authentification unsuccessful. And I see in the jguru faq and forum that access a exchange server using NTLM is not easy with javamail. So I am wondering if the trace which says : DEBUG SMTP found extension "AUTH" arg "GSSAPI NTLM LOGIN" tells exactly what I fear!!

I found the solution. I describe it here hoping it might
help :


--> unlike Exchange 5.5 , the login in Exchange 2000 is not
the string domain namelogin NTalias but only login NT so
it seems as in my case alias = login NT.


--> the output AUTH = GSSAPI NTLM LOGIN from the server
means that the server can use one the three authentication
method!!
