Using servlets to create XML?

Hi...

im quite new to java programming but in my project im working on servlets and im thinking if its possible to use servlets to retrieve data from databases and output of the servlet will be a xml document..

Im thinking in this way because i had used servlets to retrieve data from databases and output them in html n present in the browser and now i wish to do the same but output to be a xml document created...

is it possible? if it is, can someone show me how to do it? thanks.

There is nothing stopping you from generating XML from your servlet the same way you generated HTML.



Note that many databases nowadays have the ability to return results in XML format. Look into this feature on your database and you might save yourself a lot of boring looking code :).
