I have a Web application already in place. I have a set of EJB componenets deployed in Websphere. And the client is Servlet. I have implemented SSL communication for this.

Now there is a requirement like the same components can accessed from an ordinary java application also. I need to implement the same SSL communication as above.

Is this possible for a java application client to communicate with the EJB component through SSL.

no. java client communicates with EJB component via RMI over IIOP. you can try Http Tunneling and SSL over HTTP that way but I do not think it is going to work.
