load: class xxxx not found

Hi,
i am new to java and java applets.
i have written an applet whichi am calling from an html page using apache web server.
When i run on my lacal machine it runs fine but on intranet when i try from some other machine it gives me

load: class xxxx not found.

Pls. note that the class file for applet is in the same directory as the html file.

As already explained in the FAQ, it sounds like you are trying to use a feature of Java that is not supported in the Java version supported by the browser.
