Hi, we are doing a search engine project on linux using java, we have used RMI for the client and server. Hi,

we are doing a search engine project on linux using java,
we have used RMI for the client and server. The server is running fine,
and client is also runnig fine when we call from the command prompt on the
linux server, its giving the result. But when we try
to run the client from the browser using an html file which
inturn calls a cgi script which has the call to the java program,
its not displaying the result back on the browser.

We have given some debugging statements to check
whether the cgi script it at all making a call to client program or not, and
its calling the client program and displaying all the printout
statements we have given on the browser until it enconters
the line in the Client program where it looksup for the user as:

myserver server = (myServer)Naming.lookup(servername);

its not printing out any printout statements given after this line.. is there any problem here..

we tried using a permit.txt file while calling java programs that gives all the permissions.

Can u reply ASAP

thank you,
