just put the jar file that you want to access from EJB in the ejb jar file (so you will have a jar within a jar). also, include a manifest for ejb jar file that has classpath which points to jar file(s) that are in ejb jar file. manifest should look like this.
in this example, log4j.jar will be jarred into ejb jar along with home, remote and bean implementation classes and ejb-jar.xml deployment descriptor.
