I'm running my java program from a shell script and it seems to run fine if i point the classpath to jdk1.1.7's classes.zip but throws a core dump when i point it to jdk 1.3. Ne pointers??

Or...

A man went to the doctor. He said, "Doctor, it hurts when I do this."

The doctor replied,

"So, don't do that!"

This has nothing to do with Threads. This is the Threads FAQ, not the "I got a core dump" FAQ. A slightly more appropriate place would be the Java Language FAQ.

Sounds like you're using the wrong libraries for your JVM. Use the right libraries (for JDK 1.3, use 1.3's libraries; for JDK 1.1.7, use 1.1.7's libraries) and everything should work out OK.
