hi all, if i've well understood, serialization allows for exemple a java code to get an object from Domino via SOAP.


what i wanted to know is : is a serialization (and consequently a mapping for DeploymentDescriptor.xml) always needed, as far as you get an object with your server side service ?    <<Less

yes, it is always needed, unless it is java primitive, java array, java.lang.String, java.util.Date, java.util.GregorianCalendar, java.util.Vector, java.util.Hashtable, java.util.Map, java.math.BigDecimal, javax.mail.internet.MimeBodyType, java.io.InputStream, javax.activation.DataSource, javax.activation.DataHandler, org.apache.soap.util.xml.QName, org.apache.soap.rpc.Parameter or java.lang.Object (works for null objects only). for all others, you need to write a serializer.
