I have made a small program to scan my HD for files and output the result in XML, however I need a way to convert the names into something which is acceptable by an XML processor. I think my system uses western latin encoding. What shall I do? ps. some of the names contain ampersands and other illegal XML text characters. Any help is very much appreciated as I know very little of i18n issues.

Hmm, I seem to have found an answer -- someone in this forum made a function to do a conversion. Sorry for the noise and thanks for the help!
