hello,
I want to use mp3 audio file in my swing application.
wave,midi etc format are working with java audio class but how it is working with mp3 ?

Hi. You have to use the Java Media Framework, which is available from Sun for Win, Solaris and Linux. It provides classes for playing mp3-files and it's free. Reza.

There isn't any MP3 codec available written in Java. MP3 is a compression technique that is really complex to write. I do not think that Sun will provide a codec for MP3 since although it has become quite a standard.
MP3 uses Huffman compression in combination with special filtering techniques. If fact it has been made to filter out noise we do not hear simply because the human ears can not hear them. Look here for more information about how MP3 works.
If you wish to write your own implementation, I suggest you try and find some help at SourceForge...
