In Linux all threads run as process. Seeing the "top" command we can see many thread process are running. I just want to know which thread belongs to which service. i.e. i need to find the parent process for each thread. Also why doesn't the parent process been shown in the "top" command of Linux. Whereas in Solaris the main process will be shown in the "top" command and not the individual threads, so that it will help us to know the resourse utilised by ther main process or that service.
