Hello, I have a web application that does as follows: - user authentication (against the ldap database) - menu with options (each option uses the ldap database such as search, etc). I am using JSP and JavaBean but I am not sure I am doing it the right way. I am using a entire bean (with scope=session) that does the connection (in the constructor) and everything else (sucu checks, searches, etc). I would like to change it and use one bean (with scope=session) that does the connection and returns the connection pointer and use another bean (scope=page) that does the rest..... How can I do this? Some    More>>

Hello,

I have a web application that does as follows:

- user authentication (against the ldap database)
- menu with options (each option uses the ldap database such as

search, etc).

I am using JSP and JavaBean but I am not sure I am doing it the right way.

I am using a entire bean (with scope=session) that does the connection
(in the constructor) and everything else (sucu checks, searches, etc).

I would like to change it and use one bean (with scope=session) that
does the connection and returns the connection pointer and use another
bean (scope=page) that does the rest..... How can I do this?

Some people told me about "Connection Pools" but I don't know how to
use it anyway.

Could you tell me what I should do best ?

Thanks

Elisabeth

I forgot to mention that I don't have a lot of experience with it.

Thanks in advance.
