I want to create a byte stream in C++ and read it in java
(i.e. pack floats, strings, int...).  Does the NIO package allow this?  I can
see how Java can do it with standard UTF chars but how does Java know the
binary form of a C++ float.  This changes from platform to platform?

Thanks

Adam

This isn't something in the nio package. You either have to write the data to a known format or guess at things like endian order and size.
