hi friends,
I am using IBM WebSphere App server 3.5 advanced edition to deploy my ejbs.

The problem i am facing is that i can't invoke the beans from a java application client. When i run the client it throws the exception

classnotfoundexception
ibm.com.rmi.iiop.ORB

How to overcome this.

Here is the JAR files you need for your client!

  • admin.jar
  • ejs.jar
  • ns.jar
  • repository.jar
  • ujc.jar

You'll find them under the lib directory of WebSphere.

cheers,
Shahram

You have to find in WebSphere the jar containing that class and include it in your classpath. When this happened to me, I found every jar in WebSphere and included them all, to avoid any further problem (I was time-limited, but it worked).

Another suggestion: also include the deployed jar file, exactly from the path where WebSphere is using it (If you include just a copy of the ejb-jar you'll get an ORB object in place of the Home interface you are looking for, and you won't be able to call remote object's methods; derived from this it made me spend very much time for a stupid problem).
