We are running identical RMI service on two servers. Those servers are accessed by a Virtual IP. The rmi client which is sitting on third server needs to access the the one remote object sitting on first or second server through virtual ip. We want to make use of the VIP, so that even if one of the servers goes down, still the third server's client can make use of the RMI service on the first and second servers. The third servers client is accessing the RMI service in the following manner: (which is working right now) rmi://x.x.x.x/ We should be able to use rmi://y.y.y.y/ (This is Virtual IP) and not working. How can i access the remote objects through virtual ip?    More>>

We are running identical RMI service on two servers. Those servers are accessed by a Virtual IP.
The rmi client which is sitting on third server
needs to access the the one remote object sitting on first or second server through virtual ip.
We want to make use of the VIP, so that even if one of the servers goes down,
still the third server's client can make use of the RMI service on the first and second
servers.
The third servers client is accessing the RMI service in the following manner:
(which is working right now)
rmi://x.x.x.x/
We should be able to use rmi://y.y.y.y/ (This is Virtual IP) and not working.

How can i access the remote objects through virtual ip?

Any help in this regards, appriciated.

Thanks in advance,
