I am trying to send text in Big5 and korean in an email.

I enter text using an IME in big5 for example. the email sends out OK but when i receive the email, the message content gives out unicode values i.e &,# with some numbers.any idea how i could display the content correctly ?

i am using the javamail API MimeMessage object to send out the message.

I suppose u are using JSP to display the email. On JSP side, u need to set the charset=BIG5. Afterthat when u receive the message from server, u should not directly display the content string but u need to transfer the string charset to ISO8859_1 before display it.
e.g String content=mailBean.getContent();
content=new String(content.getBytes("Big5"), "ISO8859_1 ");
out.println(content);
