To send mails using Javamail the Email address needs to reside in the address list.

While using the JavaMail APi 1.2, i was able to send mails within my organisation without any problems, but couldn't send any external mails. How ever i succeeded in sending external mails only after i added the external mail address to my outlook global address list. My question is, is this a necessity or is there a work around?

Perhaps it is security setting of the mail server you are using. There is no such requirement from a JavaMail API perspective.


I have never needed to do what you are stating. I also don't use Outlook nor a Microsoft mail server.
