I would like to know the ideal method of storing huge "double" arrays as a column value in a table in Oracle using JDBC. My strategy was to pack these double arrays into byte arrays and store them as a BLOB in the database. I have packed these arrays into bytes using a ByteArrayOutputStream object in conjunction with a DataOutputStream object (using writeDouble() method of DataOutputStream).

My questions are: Is this strategy correct? If so, how would I store these byte arrays as BLOB and how would I extract them from the Oracle database?

Any help in this matter is very much appreciated

You should take a look here : http://technet.oracle.com/sample_code/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/sample_code_index.htm
