Hi All ..

Our application needs to read mail messages on a standard port ..
This is because, the mail server that sends the messages writes all
the data to a
certain port on a certain machine This follows the SMTP protocol
with certain modifications to handle extra headers and stuff like
that .. We are sending standard text and Images .. The content
type is Multipart/Mixed ..

What I need to know is, when I am reading the data on the port,
what would be the format of the message recieved .. How is the text
and image distinguished .. And other details ..
I need to basically read the bytes on the port and manipulate it,
to do this, I need to know the format in which text and images are
transferred .., the headers and flags as relevant ...

This is a really high priority task and we need to finish this as soon
as possible .. Any help or any links to relevant material would be
greatly appreciated ...

Thanks & Regards
Ravindra

Read the appropriate RFC for the protocol. Everything you are after is defined there (and covered in the FAQ)
