Having a frustrating time with getting a simple Javamail JSP to communicate with a sendmail server. The JSP works fine on NT/Iplanet/JDK1.2.2, but when migrated to Solaris, it appears not to be sending the 'domain' in the initial EHELO. Here is the session log: Thu, 24 May 2001 17:52:47 -0400 (EDT) 12856 < < < EHLO^M 12856 >>> 501 5.0.0 EHLO requires domain address 12856 < < < HELO^M 12856 >>> 501 5.0.0 HELO requires domain address I don't have admin access to the Solaris box so I can't really poke around the hosts config etc, so i've tried to implement the recommended fix of specifying the "mail.smtp.localhost"   More>>

I don't have admin access to the Solaris box so I can't really poke around the hosts config etc, so i've tried to implement the recommended fix of specifying the "mail.smtp.localhost" property and overriding the default, but to no avail. From reading around on Sun site and here, that should of done the trick...

On my NT box, it continues to handshake with the default hostname of the machine. I've loaded up on all the properties but to no avail:

props.put("mail.smtp.host","xyz.webfront.net");

props.put("mail.host","xyz.webfront.net");

props.put("mail.smtp.port","25");

props.put("mail.smtp.from","prop_from@wfront.com");

props.put("mail.smtp.localhost","192.168.1.114");

props.put("mail.stmp.ehlo","true");

I'm thinking i need another pair of eyes to have a look at this. Many thanks in advance!
