conversion of 72dpi image to 600 dpi Message 1 of 1

hi!

I want to do manipulation on Image of 600dpi.

Since 600dpi is being a large Image(e.g. 273KB), it cannot be manipulated directly without Compromising the Quality of the Image.

Steps Taken:

1) While improving the Quality
(Smoothness,Sharpness,Brightness..etc) of the Image (273KB),its giving OutOfMemory error.

To avoid the above error:

I tried the same operation by taking twice the size of the previous RAM (ie. 256MB).Still it continues to give OutOfMemory error.

2) By using Scaling Technique I reduced the size(width &
height) of the image & manipulated the Quality of the Image.

After manipulation the image is back to 72 dpi.

Query:

1)Can JVM memory be increased programmatically and restored back.?.

2)Is there any option to increase the dpi of the image i.e. from 72 dpi to 600 dpi?

3) Is there any 3rd party component which could be used for this purpose?

please mail me back at this email id:biroja_b@yahoo.com

regards
