I'm evaluating jBuilder on a machine with 64 RAM.
If I start jBuilder up and do nothing, minimize the application and start the NT task manager, I can see the java.exe process steadily consuming memory and not giving it back. Why is this ?

If you want to limit Jbuilder to take more memory you can use JDK parameters to prevent it from using more memory.

Rememter that Jbuilder will run much slower if you limit the memory.

The parameters are:

java -Xms10m -Xmx32m

This was the JVM starts with 10MB and does not take more then 32 MB.

Hope it helps.

I know this problem from the version 3.5 - it's a bug. It looks like this bug is fixed in the current version = 4.

Beyond it 64 MB for JBuilder on WinNT is not really enough ... :-(

In the about (info) -box on the tab 'system' you can perform the garbage collector to reduce the amount of used memory.
