I just installed jdk1.3.0_02 on RedHat 7.1. It is installed under /usr/java/jdk1.3.0_02. When I try to run the command "./java", I got the following error message:
./java: /usr/bin/cut: No such file or directory
/usr/java/jdk1.3.0_02/bin/i386/native_threads/java: error while loading shared libraries: libjvn.so: cannot load shared object file: No such file or directory

Can anybody tell me what the problem it is? Thanks in advance!

I had the same problem with jdk1.3.0 and redhat 7.0

try setting the JAVA_HOME environment variable to /usr/java/jdk1.3.0_02

I solved it so.

This has to do with some utilities that
moved around in Linux distributions. There's
a nice description of how to handle it
in the Blackdown
