what a newbie needs to get going ?

Hi all, i am new to j2me.
Please can you list below the things i need to get going, ie the apps, the links to resources etc.
This may sound strange, but i have not found anything on this, even on sun.com

Try Bill Day's J2ME page. This site gives you a list of tools and applications and links to tutorials.
